SPC Group announced on May 30 that it has signed a design consultant contract with Alessandro Mendini, who is considered one of the foremost industrial design masters, for the first time in the country.

Celebrating the 70th anniversary of its foundation, the group appointed Mendini as a “design mentor” in 2015 and carried out various collaboration projects, which have led to the first contract in the domestic industry.

SPC Group will work together with Mendini to develop and introduce new product packaging and novelty products of its major brands, such as Paris Baguette, Pascucci, Baskin Robbins and Samlip General Foods, in the future.

The group will sequentially release new tea bottle for Paris Baguette, spread jam packaging for Samlip General Foods, ice cream cone for Baskin Robbins and commemorative tumbler for SPC Group by May 2017.

Until now, SPC Group has carried out design management by collaborating with international industrial designers, including Karim Rashid and Stefano Giovannoni. In particular, the group, in cooperation with Mendini, revealed a commemorative emblem for the 70th anniversary of its founding in September 2015, new major brand image characters and 30 kinds of novelty products, attracting attention.
