Bibigo, a global Korean dining franchise brand run by CJ Foodville, received a presidential citation for its hard work in globalizing Korean cuisine.

CJ Foodville ran a Korean restaurant in Korean Pavilion at the 2015 Milano Expo held from May 1 to October 31 last year. During the event, about 200,000 visitors had a meal at the restaurant with 100 seats, attracting attention from foreigners.

The official Expo website said that Kimchi stew, or Kimchi jjigae, was number three on the “10 dishes you shouldn’t miss at Expo restaurants” chart. Also, leading local press reported that it is the best restaurant in the expo.

Based on the achievement, CJ Foodville CEO Jung Moon-mok received a presidential citation, while Kwak Han-geun, head of the business unit at Bibigo, and Choi Byung-hun, manager of Bibigo restaurant at the Milano expo, won a commendation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

CJ Foodville has been making overseas investment since it launched Bibigo as a global Korean food brand in 2010. The company currently operates 270 stores, including Bibigo restaurants, in 11 countries around the world.
