After the Korean and the U.S. governments have decided to enhance cyber security cooperation, American cyber security firms are to meet Korean businesses to boost their partnerships.

The Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning announced on May 22 that  Second Vice-minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning Choi Jae-yoo and the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Analysis Marcus Jadotte met at the Government Complex Gwacheon on the 20th to discuss ways to promote the private cooperation in the cyber security sector. The meeting took place as part of joint efforts of the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S.-based cyber security companies to seek potential business partners in the East Asian market.

On the 19th, cyber security firms based in Korea and the U.S. had a meeting to share the current trend in the industry and discuss joint business meeting cooperation projects at Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun Gate. 

At the meeting, the two countries agreed on the need for information protection industry promotion in order to counteract rising cyber threats in the era of hyper connection and information and communications technology (ICT) and create the safe cyber environment. They also agreed to create a synergy by converging the world’s best technologies of the U.S. and various cyber-attack counteract experiences of Korea based on the advanced ICT infrastructure.
