Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) is exporting its airport equipment patent technology to Equatorial Guinea in Africa. 

The company announced on May 19 that it will install build boarding bridges and baggage handling systems with using its patent technology at the passenger terminal building of Mongomeyen Airport located in Equatorial Guinea in Africa. 

The patent technology of boarding bridge tunnel can improve the travel convenience of the transportation vulnerable, including passengers in wheelchairs, by making the medial and lateral sloes between tunnels horizontal. The baggage handling system patent technology is a double-sloped 3D carousel system which can realize the effective baggage handling system even in a confined space. It also cut construction and operating costs, improve the convenience of baggage receipt and reduce risks of damages. 

The KAC is currently establishing boarding bridges using the patent technology of boarding bridge tunnel in Gimpo Airport and Gimhae Airport, and will install the double-sloped carousel baggage handling system in Cheongju International Airport in the second half of this year. 

Meanwhile, Ssangyong Engineering & Construction won the project to build a new passenger terminal building of Mongomeyen Airport in Equatorial Guinea of Africa in 2014 and the new airport terminal is under construction with a goal of the operation commencement in August 2017.
