According to industry sources, Samsung Electronics is planning to release its first foldable smartphone, tentatively titled Galaxy X, next year.

The Galaxy X, which has a code name of Project Valley, is expected to come with a variety of advanced technologies along with a display that can be folded in half. For example, SamMobile recently reported that Samsung Electronics’ first foldable smartphone is likely to come with a 4K display with a PenTile sub-pixel arrangement whereas the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 7 are likely to adopt a QHD Super AMOLED display with an RGB sub-pixel arrangement.

In the meantime, Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 7 Pro or the iPhone 7 Plus Premium as a higher-end version of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus slated to hit the market this autumn. It has been found that Foxconn has just started the assembly of the iPhone 7 models.

The high-end version of the iPhone 7 is predicted to have a dual camera better and a display larger than those of the other iPhone 7 models. It is likely to have two 12-megapixel rear cameras with one of the two capable of optical image stabilization and the other one capable of 2x or 3x optical zoom.
