Moyamo’s application for providing plant information is gaining much popularity. The South Korean venture firm’s app was released in November 2014 and more than 150,000 people have downloaded it so far.

The application gives real-time answers when users upload the pictures of flowers, trees and wild herbs on their smartphones. It provided approximately 20,000 answers during its first three months in the market. The mobile app provides a picture gallery as well, which shows various types of plants.

Moyamo is looking to expand its service to global markets now with an increasing number of smartphone users abroad making inquiries. “At present, South Koreans living in 55 countries around the world are using my company’s app,” said Moyamo CEO Park Jong-bong, continuing, “I am convinced that we will be able to find local business partners sooner or later as the user experience is being expanded in the United States, Japan, China and many more and then we will be able to provide our service abroad.”

He added, “I believe localization will be easier than expected because each plant has a botanical name and the platform and service know-how we are using in South Korea can be used abroad as they are.”
