Kooksoondang, a major Korean rice wine distributor, announced on May 16 that “Kooksoondang Rice Makgeolli Friuit-flavored Series” has won a Diploma Award at the SIAL CHINA, Asia’s largest food & beverage exhibitions held from the 5th to 7th in Shanghai, China.

Diploma Awards are given to the best innovative products in the exhibition. Out of 3,000 firms at home and abroad which participated in the awards, only 151 products awarded Diploma Certification. Kooksoondang is the only Korean liquor product which received the award.

Kooksoondang Rice Makgeolli Friuit-flavored Series was able to win the award as its materials, which combines rice wine with fruit flavor and taste, got recognition for innovation.

The series comes with three different flavors – Banana which has a sweet flavor with banana puree, Peach which has unique peach flavor and Citron which has natural citron juice included.

The Rice Makgeolli Banana was released in Korea in April under the brand name of “Kooksoondang Rice Banana.” The Rice Makgeolli Citron is not available in Korea yet, and it is intended for only export now. Up to now, about 470,000 bottles of the Rice Makgeolli Citron were exported to 15 countries.
