South Korea's social commercial company WeMakePrice announced on May 9 that it will carry out “Fair Trade, How to Color Villages on the Earth”, celebrating the World Fair Trade Day on the 14th. The event will be jointly held with Korea council of Fair Trade Organizations (KFTO) to promote ethical consumption.
Fair trade is a form of trade forming a virtuous cycle whose stated goal is to help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions on labor-intensive products, such as coffee, sugar, chocolate and handicrafts, by paying fair prices and to prevent absolute poverty and promote sustainability.
The Fair Trade, How to Color Villages on the Earth is a WeMakePrice platform-based event with capability donation from its employees.
It will be the largest fair trade event held by the company, jointly participated in by 10 members of KFTO, except for living cooperative associations which can sell products only to its members. During the event, a total of 34 products, including fair trade coffee, chocolate, nut products, spices, handicrafts and soccer ball, will be sold from the 9th to 12th.
