Samsung Electronics announced on May 10 that it will release the new 256GB EVO Plus microSD card which offers high capacity and performance with the third generation of 3D vertical NAND flash, stacked 48 layers, in the global market. The card will be available sequentially in more than 50 countries, including the U.S., China, Japan and Germany, starting next month.

The 256GB EVO Plus microSD card offers the highest capacity for a microSD card in its class. The car can now hold up to 12 hours of 4K UHD videos or 47 full-length HD movies.

The memory card features the UHS-I Speed Class 3 (U3), which is required to record HD videos , boasting fast read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90MB/s respectively.

In particular, the card can protect data even in extreme conditions thanks to Samsung 4-proof features, including waterproof (IEC 60529, IPX7), X-ray proof, and magnetic proof protection.
