Hansae Vietnam
President Park Geun-hye visited Hansae Vietnam on September 10. Located in Ho Chi Minh City, Hansae Vietnam is an overseas subsidiary established in 2001 by Hansae Fashion Worldwide, the largest clothes exporter in Korea.
A total of 18,500 employees are working for it now, and only 100 of them are Korean. The successful localization has given it the nickname of Samsung of Vietnam.
Last year, it imported raw and subsidiary materials worth US$250 million, and exported knit garments to the United States, Britain, Japan, France, and many more to earn US$490 million. The total production capacity of its 128 production lines amounts to approximately 260 million pieces of clothing a year. Its products are supplied to 40 or so world-famous brands like GAP, Uniqlo and Nike. Since its inception, the company has recorded accumulated exports of US$2.8 billion until last year.
