The price of the Samsung Z3 Tizen-running smartphone is recently decreasing in India, the main market of the Samsung Tizen smartphones. Due to the fact that a company usually lowers the price of existing models in order to reduce their stocks before releasing new models, it is rumored that Samsung will unveil the next Tizen smartphone soon.

According to industry sources on May 2, the price of the Samsung Z3 Tizen-powered phone recently dropped 15 to 20 percent in the Indian online market.

The price of the Z3 went down by 15 percent from 8,200 Rupee (US$123.59 or 140,712 won) to 6,980 Rupee (US$105.21 or 119,777 won) on Snapdeal, an online marketplace which is called Amazon in India. The figure also decreased to 6,990 Rupee (US$105.36 or 119,948 won) on another large e-commerce website Flipkart. The Z3 prices declined by 20 percent from 8,990 Rupee (US$135.50 or 154,268 won) to 6,955 Rupee (US$104.83 or 119,348 won) on other online marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon.

Until now, Samsung introduced only two Tizen-based smartphones – the Z1 and the Z3. They are mostly sold in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

As the price of the Z3 decreased in India, industry watchers say that Samsung has started the countdown to release the next new model. In fact, a product, which is considered the next Tizen smartphone, turned out this year. Previously, an alleged product sample of the Tizen-based Z5 popped up in the India-based import-export website Zauba. According to a report by Tizen Experts, various Tizen-based handsets are highly likely to be launched this year, including the Z5 and Z2.

Considering the fact that Tizen smartphones should improve their specifications in order to complete in the global market, market watchers pay attention to whether the company will release high spec Tizen products.
