SK C&C’s cloud service portal in its Pangyo Cloud Center is put into operation late next month. On April 28, the company announced that it named its cloud service brand Cloud Z and the same name would be used for the cloud service portal.

Earlier in December last year, SK C&C formed a strategic partnership with IBM to link IBM’s 40 or so SoftLayer data centers across the world to its Pangyo Cloud Center.

Customers using SK C&C’s cloud computing services are expected to be able to utilize about 50 public cloud centers located in 13 North American, European and Asia-Pacific countries, including the Pangyo Cloud Center, without any service interruption or regional limitation by logging on to the Cloud Z.

The Cloud Z is characterized by multi-cloud services provided SK C&C and its global partners. This is expected to result in more options to choose from on the customers’ part. SK C&C is planning to make use of the Cloud Z in enriching the domestic cloud computing ecosystem of South Korea, developing software as a service (SaaS) products with independent software vendors in the country and penetrating global markets in cooperation with them.
