Selling ESS in Europe

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) signed a 270 billion won (US$234.99 million) with Korea’s Incell and Sweden’s Incell International AB at KEPCO Art Center in Seoul on Apr. 27 to export communication-only ESS products to the European market.

Incell is a producer of communication ESS, UPS battery systems and industrial UPS. Incell International AB is a firm that sells Incell’s products in Europe.

The latest MOU is an agreement designed to sell communication ESS products in the European market. It is also the first large-scale export case for investing company at the Energy Valley. Despite a lack of large mass production facilities, the small company was able to conclude the agreement by securing the world’s best technology through continuous R&D and verification projects.

KEPCO CEO Cho Hwan-ik said, “We will secure a future growth engine in the energy new industry sector by successfully creating the Energy Valley, and live up to the government’s policy by creating new quality jobs. We will continue to discover promising small and mid-size companies which seek to push into global markets and create new success stories of the Energy Valley’s nurturing firms, like the second and third Incell.”
