Korea Southern Power Co., or KOSPO, has won two gold medals with technologies jointly developed with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at an international inventions show.

KOSPO announced on April 20 that it has made such an achievement at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2016 held from the 13th to the 17th at Palexpo in Switzerland.

With 47 years of history, the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is one of the world's three top invention fairs and the world’s largest inventions event.

KOSPO submitted two products jointly developed with SMEs – “Boiler Water Cooled Wall Tube Membrane Cutting Device” and “High Efficiency Dust Collector of Heat Recovery Boiler Ferrite” to the exhibition. The Boiler Water Cooled Wall Tube Membrane Cutting Device can completely prevent damage which often occur when replacing water cooled wall tube panels at a power plant, and also significantly reduce working hours by treating surfaces at the same time.

The Heat Recovery Boiler Ferrite High Efficiency Dust Collector can innovatively address environment pollution problems by efficiently collecting dust scattering which is released from a heat recovery boiler in large amounts due to corrosions.

In particular, this technology received "New Excellent Technology Certification” from Korea Industrial Technology Association in 2014.

KOSPO won two gold medals with technologies jointly developed by SMEs at the international inventions show this year for two years in a row after receiving a gold medal at the iENA 2015, an international trade show for ideas, innovations, and new products in Germany, last year, demonstrating the excellence of technologies in Korea.
