CJ E&M announced on April 21 that it holds KCON events in Paris on June 2, in New York on June 24 and 25 and in LA from July 29 to 31. This year, the events have been held in the UAE in March and in Tokyo this month.
The June 2 event is the first KCON in Europe. So far, it has taken place four times in the United States, once in the Middle East and twice in Japan. KCON 2016 France is scheduled for June 2 at Accor Hotel Arena.
“The events will come with K-pop stars’ concerts and exhibitions of South Korean companies’ high-quality products, Korean food and fashion and many more,” CJ E&M explained, adding, “In this year commemorating the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and France, KCON 2016 France will introduce a number of Europeans to the brilliant culture of South Korea.”
In the meantime, the events in New York and LA take place at the Prudential Center, the LA Convention Center and the Staples Center. Last year, a total of 75,000 people joined the four-day events in the United States. KCON, which started in California in 2012, is the largest Korean Wave convention for the experience of South Korean pop culture, food, etc.
