Hyundai Elevator held a globalization proclamation ceremony on Apr. 20 and announced that it aims to become one of the world’s top seven companies by 2030 based on global markets.

The company plans to boost its overseas sales from the current 300 billion won (US$264.9 million) to 900 billion won (US$794.7 million) in 2020 and 3.6 trillion won (US$3.18 billion) in 2030. In order to do so, it will actively develop markets.

The company is also going to increase its ratio of global markets to more than 70 percent of overall sales. Once it achieves 3.6 trillion won (US$3.18 billion) in 2030, overseas sales will account for 72 percent of the total.

Hyundai Elevator has also begun its export expansion projects in earnest. Of 62 countries to export, the company selected 10 countries, such as India, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, first as its priority export countries, based on the market attractiveness and market penetration easiness. It will set up a total of 10 regional offices – two every year – in the strategic countries by 2020.
