Touch Window Tech
As a venture company in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, has recently won a gold medal at the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in 2016, it is internationally recognized as having the best technology, attracting attention. The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is one of the world's three top invention fairs, along with the Invention & New Product Exposition (INPEX) in Pittsburgh, the U.S., and the iENA, an international trade show for ideas, innovations, and new products in Germany.
LD Electronics Co., which is located in the Gumi Industrial Complex, one of Korea's leading export-oriented industrial complexes, was awarded the gold medal for the “touch window manufacturing method” at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva held for five days from Apr. 13 to 17 in Palexpo Hall in Switzerland.
The company’s invention is so special because it has remedied the shortcomings of the touch window manufacturing system which has been made possible by only large companies so far.
Existing sealing equipment worked in a vacuum but the new technology can bond things with low-priced equipment in an atmospheric pressure. Thus, it is possible to supply small and mid-size companies with the touch window, an important factor of smart display panels, in appropriate quantities and designs.
Moreover, the new method can reduce production costs while improving the quality. As the display sector has become digitalized due to the advance of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, smaller businesses which need a small amount of multiple models are expected to benefit.
