Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, the biggest affiliate of industrial giant Doosan Group, said on Apr. 14 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with state-run China Nuclear Industry Maintenance Company (CNIMC) to cooperate in the nuclear power operations and maintenance (O&M) service market. With the latest agreement, the company, which has been seeking a new market in the sector, has secured the foothold to enter the Chinese market.

 The MOU signing ceremony was held in China, participated in by CNIMC President Zeng Hao and Doosan Heavy Industries Vice President Kim Ha-bang, head of the Nuclear Power BG.

The CNIMC is China's biggest nuclear power service provider in charge of maintenance for some 30 different nuclear plants in the nation. 

Doosan Heavy Industries has the top-level technology and competitiveness in the nuclear power service sector, such as the steam generator replacement construction and reactor vessel head’s canopy seal repair and inspection.

Under the MOU, the two companies will work together in the10 special service areas, including the replacement of steam generators and nuclear steam supply systems and assembly and disassembly of reactor coolant pumps.
