Samsung Galaxy Note 6 and LG G Flex 3 may reportedly feature Snapdragon 823 chipsets.

Rumors spread that the Galaxy Note 6, Samsung Electronics’ next-generation strategic smartphone with a large screen, and the G Flex 3, LG Electronics’ curved smartphone, will sport newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chipsets.

According to China’s IT news outlet My Drivers on Apr. 12, Weibo-user HQ Vision said the chipset will be featured in an unknown Sony Xperia device, as well as the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 and LG’s newest upcoming addition to the G Flex Series.

The new Snapdragon 823 chip is not an entirely new generation of processors, but an upgrade version of the older Snapdragon 802 chip. It is a quad-core processor clocked at the possibility of using 2.6GHz + 2GHz or 3GHz + 2GHz, and is still backed by an Adreno 530 GPU. It also allegedly supports 8GB of RAM and rear cameras with up to 25-megapixel sensors.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 6 is set to come with the same IP68 water and dust resistance found on the Galaxy S7 and it may also feature an iris scanner.

Sources of the Netherlands’ GalaxyClub suggest the handset will also feature an iris scanning camera for an extra layer of security. This is because Samsung Electronics recently shipped an iris camera to India for R&D purposes. Although there is no clear information, this product is a component of smartphones.
