LG Electronics (LG) succeeded in setting a new world record for the tallest house of cards built on its Centum washing machine, and receiving a Guinness World Record certificate.

According to the company on Apr. 7, Bryan Berg, a world-record holder in card stacking, partnered with LG on his record-breaking attempt and set a new world record for the tallest house of cards built in 12 hours. More incredible is that the record-breaking 3.3 meter tall structure was built atop an LG Centum washing machine while it was spinning at 1,000 RPM.

He stacked normal playing cards, which were 56 millimeters wide and 88 millimeters long, without using any glues or folding cards. Bryan Berg constructed a 48-story house with 10,800 cards, which weighed 1.4 gram per card. He holds a world record in the sector as he succeeded in building a 131-story house of cards with the height of 7.86 meters for two weeks in 2007.

The LG Centum System washing machine will be released in the second half of this year for European consumers who prefer high efficiency and low vibration washing machines. The Centum System is LG’s own technology that greatly improves durability and efficiency while reducing vibration and noise levels by utilizing a new suspension technology, which is often found in automobiles.
