Korean Air provided emergency relief goods to those affected by the worst cyclone ever recorded in Fiji, an island country in the South Pacific Ocean, on March 10, and it transported relief goods again on the 29th at no cost.

The carrier delivered 3,000 tons of relief supplies, including clothes, for free on its flight KE137 Airbus A330-200, which departed Incheon Airport for Fiji at 19:25 on the 29th, upon the request of the Fiji embassy.

Cyclone “Winston,” the most devastating tropical cyclone on record in the Southern Hemisphere, struck the Pacific island nation on February 20, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 325 km/h and heavy rain. It took more than 40 lives and affected 50,000 people, 5.5% of the total population in Fiji.

Previously, Korean Air provided relief goods, such as 9,000 liters of Jeju-sourced mineral water brand-named "Jeju Pure Water" and hardtack biscuits, by its passenger plane leaving from Incheon to Fiji on the 10th.

It also delivered relief supplies, including bottles of mineral water, to aid those affected by floods in Myanmar and the earthquake in Myanmar at no cost last year.
