Optimized for SNS
By using the next-generation long-term evolution (LTE) for the first time in the world, Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 will realize the world's fastest speed among all smartphones in existence.
In particular, the models have faster upload speeds so they are optimized for sharing video clips and virtual reality (VR) images on social networking services (SNS). It will take only 15 seconds to download a 1 GB movie unlike existing smartphones with 20 seconds.
Samsung Electronics said that it will start implementing the category 12 LTE on the Galaxy S7 Edge and the category 11 LTE on the Galaxy S7 from March 27, along with the nation’s three mobile operators. Accordingly, the speed of the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 will be increased by 33 percent compared with the Galaxy S6. The upload speed of the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 will be improved by 200 percent and 50 percent, respectively, from the previous models.
Users can dramatically shorten the time to share large amounts of data with other people via the SNS and cloud service. Personal Internet broadcasting operators and multi-channel network operators will also have a stable environment for their businesses.
