POSCO Daewoo held a proclamation ceremony of its new name and corporate identity (CI) at the Songdo Conventia in Incheon on March 21, attended by 1,000 employees.

The CI of POSCO Daewoo includes a strong will to lead the globalization of POSCO Group by combining a POSCO brand, which symbolizes confidence and innovation, and a Daewoo brand, which claims to stand for creative challenge spirit.

During a congratulatory message at the ceremony, POSCO Chairman Kwon Oh-joon said, “I hope that POSCO Daewoo bolsters synergy effects with other Posco affiliates in global business as a major affiliate of the group, and take the lead in growing POSCO Group into a more proud brand.” 

Daewoo International Corp. was founded in 1967 and was taken over by POSCO Group in 2010. In five years after the acquisition, it has decided to change its name to Posco Daewoo and begin a fresh start as a global leading comprehensive business company.
