Egyptian President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi paid a visit to Incheon New Port on February 4 as part of the goals of his visit to Korea to promote the economic cooperation between Korea and Egypt.

The Incheon Port Authority said that President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi visited the Seongwang New Container Terminal (SNCT) in the afternoon of February 4. The President listened to the new port’s facilities, services and operations.  

President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi flew into Korea on February 2 for a state visit to seek and discuss various economic and social cooperation agendas between the two nations such as infrastructure expanding projects for the growth of the Egyptian economy to build ports and airports among others and the creation of new jobs.

The Egyptian president was briefed about Incheon Port and watched a demonstration of automatic container unloading systems and yard cranes from the Control Center of the SNCT.

In the meantime, Egypt that opened the second Suez Canal last year wanted Korean companies’ participation in the development of Suez Canal and consulting services via an MOU between the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority and the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority.
