Hyundai Motor Company announced on February 25 that it would unveil all the three types of the IONIQ at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show, which is scheduled from March 1 to 13.

The IONIQ uses its own green car platform for an optimal powertrain configuration. The hybrid and plug-in hybrid models come with Hyundai Motor Company’s 1.6 Kappa GDi engine and six-speed dual clutch transmission.

The hybrid model, which is already available in the Korean market, has a maximum system output of 141 hp along with a maximum system torque of 27 kgf·m and 24 kgf·m at the first speed and the rest, respectively. It comes with a high-efficiency electric motor and the dedicated six-speed DCT to achieve a gas mileage of 22.4 km per liter.

The plug-in hybrid model, which makes its debut at the motor show, can increase its mileage in the electric vehicle mode by means of external charging. It is equipped with an 8.9 kWh lithium-ion battery and can run approximately 50 km in the pure EV mode.
