LG Electronics took a wrap off its OLED TV ad that will be aired during the 50th Super Bowl to be held in San Francisco on February 7 through YouTube, FaceBook and its homepage. The ad runs about 60 seconds. In the ad, a man from the future brings an LG OLED TV to the present time and protects it from enemies by pulling together with himself at the present time.

The LG Super Bowl ad stars Hollywood movie stars -- Liam Neeson and his son Michael Neeson. Liam Neeson is a character actor who gained popularity through the “Taken” series and “The Dark Knight” in Korea, too. These days, Liam Neeson is acting in the new film “Operation Chromite.” This ad made headlines since great director Ridley Scott and his son Jake Scott helmed the project.

It is said that the ad excellently expresses the differentiated elements of LG’s signature OLED TV such as its 2.57mm-thin panel, tempered glass on the back and a speaker developed jointly by LG and Harman Kardon, a world-class auto company.

The LG Super Bowl ad made it to the Top 10 celebrity Super Bowl ad teasers selected by AP News Service.  Ad Age, the biggest ad marketing media magazine also included the ad in the Top 20(Ad Age Creativity Top 20).

The ad trailer surpassed five million SNS views in less than a week after its release. LG Electronics expects that the Super Bowl ad will bring them tens of millions of dollars in ad effects.
