The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) has introduced its character that symbolizes the company for the first time since its founding. The character is called “GloBee,” the combined word of global and bee. It is an expression of its will to work hard, just like bees, in order to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) export their products overseas as a global business platform which opens the future of Korea.

With the first-ever character, the KOTRA plans to convey friendliness to its client SMEs. It also seeks to give a boost in the company through smooth communication.

At the monthly staff meeting held at the International Conference Room in the headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on February 1, the KOTRA had an event to unveil its character sculpture and character costume and mask. The sculpture will be permanently displayed in the lobby on the first floor and the costume and mask will be used at inside and outside events.

Due to active participations from its employees, the KOTA was able to create both the new character and emoticon by using the GloBee.

The company’s customer-oriented careful consideration and effort attract attention as “emotional management in the Digital Age.” The emoticon will not be commercially used. It will be only used by employees when communicating one another so that they can form a wide consensus in the company. Moreover, it will improve customer satisfaction of SMEs.
