Black Yak, one of the top global outdoor brands, has won 11 awards at the International Trade Show for Sports Equipment and Fashion (ISPO) Munich 2016, the largest outdoor sports business trade show in the world, being acknowledged for having potential in the global market. Since many products from its European Collection, which was unveiled for the first time at ISPO Munich 2016, won awards, Black Yak is expected to target the European markets in earnest.

The company won a total of 11 awards, including a Gold Winner award, at the ISPO Munich 2016 in Germany on Jan. 24 (Korean time). It has become the first single brand to receive awards in 11 sectors for the first time in the world since the ISPO was founded in 1970.

Black Yak received 11 prizes, including 4 Global Winner awards in the global sector, 2 global product awards, 4 Global Winner awards in the Asian sector and 1 Asian product award.

Award winning products include the European Collection, a high-performance Alpine line which is idealized for speed-mountaineering activities, and Yak On H, a smart wear brand which is integrated with information technology (IT), showing its differentiated product quality.

The European Collection, which helped the company to receive the most prizes with 10 sectors, carried out rigorous field tests in Europe and the Himalayas and went through product development processes in the last three years, maximizing product competitiveness and functionality.

The European Collection has three product lines: PALI, which maximizes functionality to overcome extreme environments; SIBU, which is an innovative line with its latest new materials and technologies; and MAIWA, which has multi-functionality that can be used in various outdoor activities.

Out of these, the Emergency Jacket, which received the Gold Winner award in the global sector, belongs to the PALI line from the European Collection. Black Yak has developed the Emergency Jacket to be as light and packable as possible so that consumers can carry it at all times for emergencies while involved in outdoor activities, including hiking. The jacket weighs only 71 grams (Size M). For the Emergency Jacket, Black Yak uses Dyneema, which produces fibers that are lighter than water and 15 times stronger than steel. Moreover, consumers are protected from water and wind while maintaining great mobility. The jacket has high internal flexibility so that it can be worn under big down jackets.
