The Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) sent back two Uzbek children suffering from heart disease on Jan. 6 after the invitation and successful operation as part of its global corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.

The two Uzbek children were chosen in Surgil, Uzbekistan, where KOGAS is currently carrying out projects, and brought to Korea on Dec. 21 last year.

From 2012, KOGAS has been running global medical care support programs in cooperation with Seoul National University Bundang Hospital to invite children with heart problems in underdeveloped countries like Iraq to Korea to repair their hearts.

Meanwhile, the company’s Surgil gas field project is attracting attention due to the joint overseas expansion with domestic private companies such as Honam Petrochemical Corporation and STX, and its commercial production will begin in 2016.
