SK Hynix announced on Dec. 21 that its employees, who were taking part in the overseas training program for outstanding employees, did volunteer work for the underprivileged in Cambodia.

The program was aimed at helping SK Hynix employees get global mindsets and competence by providing different culture experiences. For the overseas training program, the company selected 600 outstanding employees and divided them into 18 groups to participate in the program from Oct. 18 to Dec. 19. Through this, the company inspired the pride of its employees and showed its vision of sharing happiness by becoming involved in volunteer activities during the period.

The participants paid visits to local schools and welfare facilities for children in Siem Reap in northwestern Cambodia to improve poor environment conditions, give away educational kits and products, and offer educational classes. In addition, they held an event to make gimbap in order to share Korean food culture.

Woo Jong-wook, senior manager and one of the 600 participants in the voluntary program, said, “I felt grateful to see the children’s big smiles during the event.” Joo Ki-byung, chairman of the Korean Association Siem Reap in Cambodia, also said, “As a Korean, we feel proud to see them visiting here and serving the local community.”
