GM Korea established the GM Korea Employee Foundation in 2005 to coordinate more professional and systematic social welfare activities. The GM Korea Employee Foundation has been operated through employees’ voluntary donations and activities.

The most outstanding outreach activity of the foundation is that it has donated cars consistently to organizations helping the underprivileged, like children, the handicapped, senior citizens, multicultural families and the homeless, to improve their mobility. It has donated 443 cars in total to social welfare facilities all over the country, from the company’s foundation until 2015.

In 2015, affiliated with Incheon Social Welfare Community Chest, it donated 40 cars in total -- 37 Chevrolet Sparks and 3 Damas -- to community relief centers all over the country.

In addition, the foundation has been making efforts to help children and adolescents that are in need by providing educational opportunities for them. An Auto Science Camp has been held annually since 2005 hosted by the Ministry of Education and officially supported by GM Korea. It is a program for 120 students selected by the Metropolitan and Provincial Offices of Education, and is designed for them to easily learn the scientific principles of cars like generating and delivering power, steering and braking, relieving shocks, and making electrical devices. There are lots of interesting experiments and lectures going on.

The foundation is in charge of recruiting employee volunteers and supporting them. Since 2006, they have delivered charcoal briquettes to senior citizens living alone who live near each business.

Also, each business has made and delivered kimchi to people in need at the end of the year.
