Hyundai Heavy Industries Group’s five ships were selected as the “World Class Product.”

HHI Group, the world’s biggest shipbuilding group, said that it gained the World Class Products certification on five products at the 2015 World Class Product Certification Ceremony held at COEX, Seoul, on Dec. 16. Its newly certified “World Class Products” are HHI’s LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU); Hyundai Mipo Dockyard’s (HMD) pure car carrier and juice carrier; and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries’ (HSHI) LNG carrier and large product carrier.

Accordingly, the group now has a World Class Products certification on a total of 48 products – 34 products from HHI, 7 products from HMD, and another 7 products from HSHI.

The World Class Products are products selected among the top five in terms of global market share, number one in terms of domestic market share, and domestic-like products with more than 30 percent of exports. Also, it is a system to be supported in marketing activities at home and abroad.

Meanwhile, HHI registered 39 World Class Products to date from 2001, and 34 of them have received new or renewed certification this year. The company has the largest number of World Class Products among domestic companies.
