IBK officials pose during the celebratory gathering to mark successful consultations for 1,000 companies this year through "SMEs Hope Consulting Project" on Dec. 16.

The state-run Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK), headed by Chairman and CEO Kwon Seon-joo, announced on Dec. 16 that it provided free consultations for 1,000 companies this year through its “SMEs Hope Consulting Project,” which offers free consulting services in business strategy, taxation and laws to local small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs).

For the free consulting project that helps SMEs achieve sustainable growth, expert consultants work at the companies for one to six weeks in person to grasp current business situations and suggest solutions.

IBK Chairman Kwon Seon-joo visited COMMAX Co., the 1,000th firm to receive its consulting services, and delivered an address, saying, “We will continue the consulting project in order to find solutions for companies facing a crisis, and to help growing companies take a leap forward.”

An official from IBK said, “Currently, the consulting group of IBK consists of a total of 87 experts, the largest in the domestic financial industry. We offered free consultations for 1,000 firms this year alone, and will provide the free consulting services to another 1,000 companies every year in 2016 and 2017 as well.”
