The Korea Ginseng Corporation (KGC) donated about 300 million won (US$256,932) to UNICEF in a donation that they titled “Jeonggwanjang Happiness and Love Sharing.” The KGC campaigned last Chuseok for this donation. Festivals were held and 2 percent of the profits created from the festivals were set to be given to UNICEF. Not only that, but also a coin collection box has also been displayed at each shop to gather money for this donation from customers, franchise owners, and officers of the company.

This time, it will be used for food and education for children, which are UNICEF’s core projects.

The KGC has continued its donation campaign, titled “116th Year of Establishment of Jeonggwanjang” through Naver Happybean, a donation portal site. It will end on Dec. 31.

Park Jung-wook, the president of the KGC, said, “It is meaningful that the donation to UNICEF this time has been made by all Jeonggwanjang members, including its customers. We will keep up doing social contribution activities as a healthy company that cherishes sharing with neighbors.”

In the meantime, the KGC has contributed to society through the Jeonggwanjang fund and employees’ voluntary donations.
