According to the Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer (DART) System from the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) on Dec. 6, LG Hausys posted 809.9 billion won (US$697.59 million) in overseas sales until the third quarter.

It is more than doubled from 547.3 billion won (US$471.4 million) in 2009 when the company set sail. Also, the company is about to record sales of 1 trillion won (US$861.33 million) in global markets for two successive years this year again after reaching the 1 trillion won mark for the first time last year.

Since interior materials undergo various influences, such as residential culture, customs and climate in the region, it is considered the typical domestic industry that has difficulties to push into global markets. However, LG Hausys has been participating in local exhibitions, releasing localized products and expanding sales outlets.

This year alone, the company took part in about 20 interior materials exhibitions across the world, including China, the U.S., Germany, Turkey, Dubai and India, aggressively seeking to get new customers. It has newly opened two branch offices in Dubai and Jakarta early this year to accelerate targeting emerging markets, such as Middle East and Southeast Asia.

In addition, LG Hausys attended the Big 5 International Building & Construction Show in Dubai, the largest construction materials expo in Middle East, held from Nov. 23 to 26 for three years in a row.

At the event, more than 2,000 officials in the Middle Eastern construction industry visited the company’s booth, receiving positive reviews from local visitors. Also, LG Hausys had consultation on the product supply with more than 200 companies in the Middle Eastern region.
