Favorite Brand in Russia

 

Russian market research firm OMI announced on Dec. 6 that Samsung Electronics ranked first for the fifth consecutive year in its online survey of Russians’ most favorite brands. The survey was conducted in cities each with a population of at least one million and was answered by 1,500 citizens. This year, Samsung Electronics was picked by 20.1 percent of the respondents, followed by Sony (9.6 percent), Apple (9.5 percent), Adidas (8.5 percent) and Nike (8 percent).

Samsung Electronics recorded 18.2 percent last year, when Adidas posted 11.9 percent. In 2013, Samsung was selected by 18.5 percent, beating Sony by a margin of 8.3 percentage points. In addition, Samsung Electronics has retained its top spot for seven years in a row since 2009 among electronics manufacturers. This year, it recorded 32.2 percent, followed by Bosch (23.6 percent).

In the mobile phone segment, Samsung Electronics recorded a preference of 31.2 percent to rank first for three consecutive years. In the TV, audio and DVD player segment, it topped the chart for the fifth consecutive year with a preference of 39 percent. It was on top of the tablet PC supplier list for two years in a row with a preference of 33.5 percent, too.

In the meantime, Samsung Electronics has sponsored the Bolshoi Theatre since 1991 and engaged in various social contribution activities in Russia, including Education for Everyone.
