The African Development Bank (AfDB) has recently held the “2015 Africa Expansion Strategy Seminar” and the “AfDB Key Strategy Korean Version Publication & Korean Website Launching Seminar,” aggressively seeking to attract Korean firms.

The event is hosted by the AfdB and jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the Export-import Bank of Korea to help Korean companies, which are interested in private investment in African countries, expand into the market, and discuss ways to minimize their risks at the same time.

The AfDB External Representation Office for Asia explained the AfDB 2013-2017 Private Sector Development Strategy, the Africa Investment Opportunity & Business Risk Reduction Measures, the AfDB Private Sector Business & Project, and the AfDB’s Risk Management System in detail, and shared actual successful cases of Korean firms that have made inroads into the African market.

Tadashi Yokoyama, head of the AfDB External Representation Office for Asia, said, “Africa is a huge land of opportunity and the world's fastest-growing continent after Asia. We hope that the seminar helps Korean companies become interested in and understand African countries’ investment systems and environments better and seek new investment opportunities. Also, we expect more Korean companies to push into the markets.”
