LSIS, the nation’s leading electric equipment manufacturer, has been chosen as one of the “Top 100 Global Innovators” for five years in a row by Thomson Reuters, a leading global consulting group and communication service provider.

The company announced on Nov. 19 that it was recently named as one of the top 100 global innovative companies of this year by Thomson Reuters again, creating a five-year trend, along with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics in Korea. On the same day, LSIS Chairman Koo Ja-kyun received a trophy in person from Thomson Reuters regional CEO at the LS Tower in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province.

Koo said, “It is an honor to be selected as one of the Top 100 Innovators, the most reliable innovation index in the world, for five years in a row by Thomson Reuters. I’m very pleased that our constant efforts to secure intellectual property [IP] capabilities and enterprise innovation for global competitiveness have been recognized.”

“Giving top priority to R&D innovation as the most important value for sustainable growth, LSIS has been investing more than 6 percent of its sales revenue in this area every year. In particular, we will increase our IP portfolio throughout the entire business division, as an indicator of the enterprise’s technological competitiveness and innovation,” he added.

An official from LSIS said, “In the Electric Power category, which is newly created this year, LSIS and French-based electricity company Alstom are the only two companies included. It shows our brand value in the global electricity market.”
