Orientypes Co. announced on Oct. 28 that it will provide the oriental design app Orientypes, which targets foreigners who are interested in Korean culture and celebrities and helps them keep pace with Korean Wave trends.

Orientypes is an image design app that helps foreigners who are interested in Asian culture create their own designs. The app contains various basic oriental stickers and Korean designs. Users can add and edit Korean words and phrases using the stickers. They can also use their own photos.

With Orientypes’ design tools, users have full control over illustration sizes and Korean text, and can create their own DIY designs. By using an English-to-Korean translation function, they can choose certain sentences and the names of their favorite singers and celebrities.

Furthermore, Orientypes possesses a function that reads Korean letters using a “Romanization algorithm,” which helps foreigners enunciate each sound. When users touch Korean letters or the lip icon on the upper right corner of the app, the app will show English-language spellings of the Korean characters on the screen, helping users to learn to pronounce the Korean language text displayed.

Orientypes CEO Kim Yoon-ah said, “I would like to help foreigners understand Korean culture, so they can be more interested in the country.”
