Kia Motors announced on Oct. 19 that it sold 95,102 cars in Europe in the third quarter of this year, to set a new Q3 record there.

According to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), Kia Motors’ sales volume in 28 EU and four European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member countries increased 9.7 percent from 86,718 between the third quarters of last year and this year.

During the first three quarters of 2015, Kia Motors sold 295,140 cars in the region to record an 8.3 percent growth from a year earlier. Kia Motors Europe, which was launched in the first half of this year, recently exceeded a sales volume of 200,000.

By country, it sold 21,960 vehicles in Britain and 14,488 and 9,771 in Germany and Spain, respectively. In Sept. alone, the company’s sales in Europe rose by 9.2 percent to reach 39,923. In the same month, Hyundai Motor Company raised its sales in the region by 9.8 percent year on year to 49,555 as well, which was led mainly by the new Tucson.
