Doosan Infracore (CEO Sohn Dong-youn) announced on Oct. 7 that it is participating in the Exposition mondiale de la Machine Outil (EMO) 2015 being held in Milan, Italy, from Oct. 5 to 10.

The EMO is one of the four biggest machine tools fairs in the world, along with the United States’ International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), China’s China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT), and the Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF). It is a bi-annual European trade show which takes place at Hanover in Germany and Milan in Italy by turns.

More than 1,600 companies from 40 countries have joined the 21st EMO this year, and 150,000 visitors are expected to take part in the show.

Doosan Infracore is showcasing a total of 22 high-tech machine tools, including 11 new products, in the exhibition hall with a floor space of 1,720 square meters. In particular, the company has debuted the DHF 8000, a new large-capacity horizontal machining center with simultaneous 5-axis machining developed by Doosan, for the global market. It is a product that is designed specifically for the high-precision machining of work pieces with extremely complex shapes, such as aviation engine parts, with a single operation setting.

In addition, the company has unveiled a smart monitoring technology that allows visitors to monitor the current situation of equipment on exhibition and the equipment conditions in its Changwon plant in Korea as part of the Smart Factory project.

Doosan Infracore is advancing in the European machine tool market, which shows a slight growth after 2014. The company has the largest share in the machine tool market in the U.K. and Italy. Also, its cumulative sales exceeded 10,000 units in the Italian market alone last year.

An official from Doosan Infracore said, “The European market is the market with the highest demand of machine tools, which fit with the aviation and auto industry, and automation and intelligence technologies. Introducing our high tech products, including duplexer and big machine, and various automation solutions at the EMO 2015, we will continuously raise our market share.”
