An online video that demonstrates the LG V10 undergoing a durability test is becoming a sensation on the Internet.

Android Authority took the LG V10 on a drop test to see whether the South Korean manufacturer's claims of the smartphone's military-grade resistance can stand up to the test. They dropped the device 15 times, including some very unrealistic scenarios to see how far LG’s claims of the V10 could go.

The result is pretty surprising. In all of the real-life scenarios, the smartphone suffered mere scratches. Meanwhile, other smartphones would have likely cracked or shattered in the same situation. The screen remained surprisingly intact until the very last drop test, when the V10 was thrown into the air.

LG claims the V10 has received an MIL-STD-810 resistance rating, a military standard used for testing the durability of equipment. The video of the drop test shows that LG has made good on its promise of delivering a smartphone with a durable build.

The LG V10 is made to be more durable with a strong stainless steel and DuraSkin, a plastic material that gives a better grip and protection against drops and scratches.

Here is the video on YouTube of the test.

Foreign IT media also noted the advantages of the other features such as a “Second Screen” and “Dual Front Cameras.”

Regarding the second screen, PC Magazine notes that when a user is enjoying a movie or game on the V10, the Second Screen will notify the user without blocking the view when a call or text comes in. Notifications can be acknowledged without distracting the user from their enjoyment of whatever they are doing.

Digital Trends also published an article detailing the benefits associated with the second screen.

Gizmodo highlighted the advantages of dual front cameras noting that two separate lenses make it possible to capture perfect wide-angle selfies of 80 or 120 degrees without the need of a selfie stick.

After launching on Oct. 8, LG plans to introduce the V10 to consumers in major cities next month.
