Kia Motors’ Soul EV topped Germany's electric vehicle market in August.
According to industry sources, Kia Motors sold 360 units of the Soul EV last month in Germany, outperforming the A3 e-tron at 177 units and Tesla Model S at 130 units.
The Soul EV's market share in the German electric vehicle market reached 25 percent last month.
Kia Motors has sold a cumulative 1,099 units of the Soul EV in Germany during the Jan.-Aug. period, the fifth-largest amount among the total EV models in the German market, the data showed.
A total of 326 units of the Soul EV were sold last month in Norway, called the “heaven of electric cars,” boosting the Kia electrical vehicle to rank 3rd after Volkswagen e-Golf at 735 units and Nissan Leaf at 587 units. Kia Motors sold a total of 1,169 units as of Aug. this year in the Scandinavian country.
