Apple unveiled the 12.9 in. iPad Pro on Sept. 9. The new product, which is characterized by having an enlarged screen, came with the Apple Pencil, the first stylus pen in Apple’s history, and an idea Steve Jobs disliked. The Wall Street Journal reported that the product, which is designed for professionals in particular, is part of Apple's strategy to turn the tables, with the sales of the iPad continuing to decline for about a year and a half.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 6S on the same day as well. The handset has "3D Touch" that can be used for the execution of different commands depending on the magnitude of the pressure on the screen, and the handset comes in rose gold in addition to existing colors.

The new phone is equipped with Apple’s own 64-bit A9 application processor. According to Apple, the application processor boosts computation speed by up to 70 percent and graphic performance by up to 90 percent. The front and rear cameras have 12 megapixels and five megapixels, up four and 3.8 megapixels respectively. Apple added the feature of Live Photos to the cameras, too. The body of the phone is formed of 7000 series aluminum, which has a higher level of strength than the 6000 series adopted by the iPhone 6.

Some people point out that the iPhone 6S is not innovative, because many of its features can be seen in Android phones on the market. According to Phone Arena, examples of such features include 4K video recording, a flashlight for a front camera, 7000 series aluminum, and voice recognition.

The iPhone 6S is expected to have 2 GB RAM so that users can be free from the multitasking-related problems of previous 1 GB RAM-based devices. Among Android handsets, the LG Optimus LTE 2 was designed with 2 GB of RAM in as early as 2012, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has 4 GB of RAM now.

Preorders for the iPhone 6S can be placed from Sept. 12 in the United States, China, Japan, Singapore, and other markets. The official release is scheduled for Sept. 25. The 16 GB versions of the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are available at US$199 and US$299 on a two-year subscription basis, respectively.
