Bad Romance
Chanel has been loved by the people of Korea for a long time, even though it is a foreign brand.
Despite that, Chanel's cosmetics were withdrawn from the duty-free shops of Incheon International Airport on Sept. 1. “It is correct that we withdrew from all of the duty-free shops at the airport,” a Chanel Korea spokesperson said. Chanel Korea was selling their products via three duty-free shops at Incheon International Airport. But recently, the company failed to strike a deal with the duty-free stores.
At present, the cosmetics sections at the airport have many different brands of cosmetics products. However, Chanel wanted to have exclusive sales booths. But the operator of the duty-free shop space did not accept their demands. This made Chanel withdraw from the airport duty-free shops entirely. This follows on the heels of Chanel withdrawing its products from the Duty-Free Shop of the Korea National Tourism Organization, too.
