Global Leaders share their experiences and expertise with the George Mason University Korea students at Career Day event.

On Aug. 27, George Mason University Korea (GMUK) held a Career Day for students at the campus Guest House with global leaders from a variety of different fields. Career Day is hosted by GMUK every semester, and global leaders offer advice on career paths and the qualities needed to be successful once students enter the workforce.

For this event, global leaders from Ford Motor Company, Green Climate Fund, McKinney Consulting, and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) participated and shared the experiences and challenges they faced to get to where they are today. They also provided some valuable information on pursuing careers in each of their related fields.

Dr. Steven Lee, President of George Mason University Korea, said, “Career Day is an excellent educational opportunity for students as global leaders from different industries are invited to participate and provide one-on-one coaching, which prepares them for their future careers.”  He further added, “In addition, we offer a range of internship opportunities during the semester to develop creative and talented students who are capable and have the skills which are required by companies. Our aim is to prepare students effectively for their careers after graduation.”

With the new semester beginning in September, George Mason University Korea will hold Open House every 3rd Sat. of the month starting from October. The event will include an introduction of the school, a campus tour and provide admissions counseling.
