Samsung C&T has announced that it held a ground-breaking ceremony for a public library in Ha Tinh Province, central Vietnam, on Aug. 14, attended by provincial officials.

The company will build a two-story public library with a total area of 400 square meters in Ha Tinh Province, donate it to the province, and support the operation. Also, it will offer local staff training and programs to promote reading for a certain period of time.

This is the third fruit of Samsung C&T’s Dream Tomorrow project. Starting with the construction of an elementary school in Indonesia in 2013, the company also began to build a vocational training center for teenagers in Thailand in April under the Dream Tomorrow project.

An official from Samsung C&T said, “We were able to build the public library thanks to active support and participation from the Vietnamese regional government and residents. As a leading global company with corporate social responsibility, Samsung C&T will make every effort to make the most of its construction business and to contribute to local people in the future.”

Samsung C&T selected Pasirhalang Village in Indonesia as Samsung C&T Village I in 2013 and built and renovated 110 homes. Also, the company recently started Samsung C&T Village II project in Ambarnath, a region near Mumbai, India, to improve the living conditions for the local residents.
