Residential Solar

Hanwha Q Cells announced on July 16 that it has signed a deal to supply 50MW modules to the U.S. residential solar market.

On July 10, the company signed a long-term module supply deal with Sunrun, a U.S. company that provides residential solar services from construction, insurance, and monitoring to maintenance. If a system with an average of 5kW is installed on the rooftop of a house in the U.S., 50MW of modules is enough electricity to supply more than 10,000 homes.

Hanwha Q Cells thinks that the deals show its top-level technology was recognized in not only the utility market but also the residential market.

Meanwhile, high-efficiency modules scheduled to be supplied to the U.S. residential market with the deal will be produced in its plant in Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do, or North Chungcheong Province.
