On July 12, LG U+ announced that Vice Chairman Lee Sang-chul is scheduled to give a keynote speech, titled “A way toward 5G,” during MWC Shanghai 2015 from July 15 to 17. He is planning to present a new lifestyle that telecommunications services can offer after LTE.

Vice Chairman Lee plans to propose a “me-centric” strategy as an alternative to popularize high-quality services in the 5G era, following the LTE period. It means that mobile carriers should develop customized services in order to satisfy customers during the 5G era.

Lee is going to explain, “To customers who need a chauffeur, mobile carriers ought to develop and provide corresponding services. They should also develop and offer secretary services to those who need a secretary 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.” He will also say, “It will be difficult for telecommunications operators to satisfy consumers with existing services aimed to attract 1 million or 10 million people at once. Companies that provide these kinds of services cannot grow in the future.”

In addition, Lee is planning to remark, “In the post-LTE period, we will see more rapid market changes due to the sophistication of computers and networks.” He is also going to stress, “The influence of computers has grown one million times or more for the past 30 years. And the disappearance of constraints of time and space has brought about a 'me-centric' society that requires innovative ideas.”
