Samsung Electronics denied the rumor that it will release its next-generation strategic smartphone, the Galaxy S7.

According to a recent report by a domestic media source, Samsung will complete the development of the Galaxy S7 two to three months ahead of schedule and launch the product in the second half of this year.

But an official from the Samsung Electronics Marketing Division said in an interview with U.S.-based IT industry news provider MobileBurn on June 23 (local time), “There is no change in our policy to release products on schedule, including the S series.” It means that the Galaxy S7 will be on the market in the first half of next year as scheduled.

He added that the Galaxy will not be released this year, but neither will Samsung just sit and watch the launch of the new iPhone.

It suggests that Samsung Electronics will release the Galaxy S6 Plus and Galaxy S6 Plus Edge in Sept. when Apple releases the iPhone 6S.

The Galaxy S6 Plus will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 32 gigabyte internal storage, a 5-megapixel front camera and 16-megapixel rear camera, and a 5.5-inch QHD display, which is bigger than the current 5.1-inch model.

Also, the Galaxy S6 Plus will support RAW photography, which retains light information when shooting. The company will also improve the memory leak problems which are found in some models of the Galaxy S6, attracting much interest of consumers.
